Lexus Reviews

New Cars
Good: Upmarket hybrid hatchback powered by the same hybrid system as the Toyota Prius. Exceptional front seat legroom. High quality interior.
Bad: Poor ride and handling. Slow performance. Lack of any driving pleasure.
Good: Replaced the GS and comes exclusively with 300h hybrid powertrain so no Noxious diesel emissions. Starts at £38,800 but needs to keep under £40k to avoid £450pa luxury car tax.
Bad: Front-drive 2.5 litre self-charging hybrid with epicyclic CVT only. Puts old-fashioned luxury and comfort ahead of sporty handling. First 1,000 in UK sold out quickly. Toyota Camry hybrid rides and handles better.
Good: Sharp and modern styling. Well built and upmarket cabin. Low emission on hybrid model.
Bad: Ride quality much better on smaller wheels. Not as good to drive as a BMW 3 Series.
Good: Striking design always gets attention. V8 engine in LC 500 sounds thunderous. Forgiving ride quality makes it a comfortable GT car. 10-speed automatic actually works very effectively.
Bad: Hybrid version isn't as fun as the LC 500.
Good: Lexus LS aimed to redefine luxurious cars. Smooth hybrid system. Fine ride. Extremely high level of standard equipment. Extraordinary interior trim that is different from anything else.
Bad: High list prices.
Good: High quality and impressively refined. Luxurious feel to interior. Usefully large boot. Cheaper entry-level model with 2WD. Relaxing to drive in traffic.
Bad: F Sport models get strange exhaust note symposer. More at home in the suburbs than on twisting A and B roads.
Good: Dramatic looking coupe. RC F came first with vocal V8 engine and 477PS. Comfortable ride with a usable boot. RC300h is very smooth and refined.
Bad: Some dated features like foot-operated parking brake. Indecisive automatic gearbox on RC F.
Good: Very refined and smooth. Impeccable interior finish. Five star Euro NCAP rating. Lots of standard equipment for the money.
Bad: Not great in corners. 200t is very thirsty. No plug-in option so lowest CO2 is 120g/km.
Good: High level of standard kit. Very comfortable with excellent ride quality. Big boot.
Bad: Extra seats are tricky to access. Infotainment system is not the easiest to use.
Good: Hybrid only and smaller than Lexus NX. Excellent ride and handling on TNGA platform. 180PS 2.0 litre hybrid system. Sensible prices of £29,900 for UX and £33,900 for UX F Sport.
Bad: Less space inside than most SUVs. UX and F Sport have disappointingly small satnav screens.
