Why are some franchised dealerships so uninterested in selling cars?

We have been trying over the past couple of weeks to buy a car with around £12,000 in cash, but Nissan dealers and Vauxhall dealers seem singularly uninterested here in Chester. Trying to get any of them to pay attention has been fraught. We have cash, they have cars. How hard can it be? So, it's off to the local Hyundai dealer who 'has' paid attention and 'has' arranged a test drive. Little wonder that I keep my cars for over seven years before I go through the trauma of buying another new one.

Nissan and Vauxhall dealers tend to performs badly in customer satisfaction surveys and your experience backs this up. It seems ridiculous when you actually want to spend money with them, plus all the extra cashflow they'll get when you return for servicing. Toyota, Lexus and Skoda dealers tend to be among the best and Hyundai (and KIA) are fast catching up, as seems to be very much the case in your area. Hyundai also has some great cars and even better ones coming through, so it's a brand you can stick with for years to come. It seems Vauxhall and Nissan have lost a customer, which is Hyundai's gain.
