Stop/Start system failure with new Qashqai

I bought a new Qashqai 1.6 diesel here in Cyprus in May 2014. I have taken it back to the dealer three times now due to 'System failure' message appearing in regards to the Start/stop' system.

The dealer connected the car to diagnostics and on two occasions made it work only for it to fail again in under two weeks. He said the diagnostics indicated it was due to tyre pressures being lower than 'target' but now agrees this was not the cause.

He is now waiting for a new programme update to rectify it. Any ideas/suggestions and have you heard of anything similar?

First report of this and the simple answer until it can be fixed is to switch it off altogether. Could be that is is not operating because you are not driving within its parameters.

Too many short runs, for example, and there won't be enough in the battery for the system to function. Or the air con requires so much electricity to function in Cyprus that it does not leave enough in the battery for the stop/start to work.
