How long will the battery last on a hybrid?

I'm thinking of buying a second hand hybrid, can you please can you tell me at what mileage I should be worrying about renewing the battery pack, and the cost?

Completely depends on your use of the car. A Toyota Prius hybrid drive and battery pack is warranted for right years and 100,000 miles. Others less so, including Lexus. Prius have been known to do 400,000 miles as taxis with no major renewals. In the UK, battery packs are quoted at £2k+. But here's an American feature about them that shows they need not be as costly: www.tirebusiness.com/article/20121120/NEWS/1211299...k
