Ford Mondeo mk5 2.0d
I have just recently had a issue on my Daughters 2016 Ford Mondeo mk5 2.0d. It developed a coolant leak from the water jacket/ radiator on the EGR valve, which I think is a common fault. I contacted my local Ford dealer and all they would sell me was a brand new EGR valve at £560. As this engine was fitted to Peugeot and Citroen I also contact those dealers and again those dealers wanted to sell me a new EGR valve. I prefer to fit Ford parts or high quality OEM parts. After looking on the internet I found a few suppliers that will just do the water jacket/ radiator, which is held on with 6 bolts, and I found 1 that supplied just the jacket/radiator, with the original markings including the Fomoco Peugeot and Citroen logos from France for £111. (I have since found 1 for around £50).
Why do Ford [Peugeot and Citroen] try to "rip off" the owners like this.
Other owner of cars with this engine beware.

The engine is a PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) engine, so it may be that they only supply the complete unit to Ford – even so, by shopping around you've saved yourself a lot of money. It's good advice that we are happy to share with others.
