Does fast charging reduce the life of a rechargeable battery by reducing the number of charging cycles it can go through?

Yes – research has shown that regular rapid charging can be detrimental to the lifespan of the batteries in an EV. We'd only recommend an electric car if you can charge at home rather than relying on regular rapid charging.
