Will the repeated use of rapid chargers damage an EV battery in the long term?

For EV owners who do not have off-street home charging and are thus forced to use public EV charging, will repeated use of high Kw rapid chargers damage the battery in the long term?

It's generally accepted that repeated rapid charging will cause a battery to lose capacity faster than it would otherwise. Some studies have found that the effect is marginal, though, and we've heard from owners who regularly rapid charge without an issue. I think a bigger concern would be the hassle of having to use public chargers regularly. Electric cars make more sense when you can charge them at home.
