Very likeable dependable car

I own a 2010 Superb 2.0 168 TDI DSG Combi. It had quite a few faults but all are fixed now. We it and decided to keep it in the family but needed a new car. The Octavia Combi is almost as big, roomy and had all the spec we needed. It can look a little drab with a black interior so we ordered cream leather and cream cabin which lightens it up quite a lot. I ordered a 1.6 TDI DSG as I thought it would be cheaper to run. Being honest I'm not sure it is much more economical than the Superb. It is down on power but you only notice that with a few passengers in the car. It had one main fault and I was without the car for 5 weeks, I'd start it and there would be no brakes. The local dealer refused to let me drive it until they diagnosed and fixed the fault, a vacuum issue that was hard to spot. As the dealer gave us a suitable replacement car while our was being fixed, I didn't mind too much. I find the DSG seamless and would recommend the car, perhaps though if you can, get the 2 litre for that extra oomph.
