Overall reliability

Fantastic interior, fantastic build quantity, terrible driving dynamics

I bought this car new, 4 years ago. Firstly, the Bad..! Overall it's been reliable apart from a couple of issues which were reoccuring. The first was a known fault to Audi on manual gearboxes with the 2.7TDI engine. I had 4 new clutch plates plus at one point a whole new clutch assembly...a pain, BUT always dealt with promptly and corteously by my local audi dealer. The second problem was also known to Audi, being water ingress through the rear wash wipe which destroyed the BOSE amplifier and radio tuner. Again though, all replaced promptly with no fuss. But the worst aspect is it's dreadful handling. I know it's a big car, but the steering is lifeless and inert, the road holding poor and as such you can never press on and enjoy the experience. It really is only good on motorways...
The good points, fantastic interior, stylish and well built. It hasn't aged at all, even after 4 years and 60000 miles. The engine is smooth and responsive, although not as economical as Audi claim. The BOSE stereo is also superb and makes long journeys a pleasure. I also specified the rather expensive air suspension which has proved to be money well spent as the car rides better than any other Audi i've driven! Obe item i didn't get, which i regret, was sports seats as the standard ones don't offer enough support.
