Jaguar confirms £28,500 E-Pace SUV

Published 21 June 2017

Jaguar is expanding its SUV range with the launch of the E-Pace. The all-new 4x4 is expected to use the same mechanical platform as the Land Rover Evoque and feature four-cylinder petrols and diesels. Prices will start from £28,500 when it reaches showrooms in 2018.

The E-Pace will rival the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 and feature four-wheel drive as standard, along with Jaguar’s latest semi-autonomous safety kit, with automatic emergency braking, smart cruise control and lane keep assist.

The compact SUV will be aimed at family car buyers, with the emphasis on comfort, practicality and low fuel costs. Power will come from an all-Ingenium range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, spread across 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre displacements. A performance focussed V6 should also make it into the E-Pace, with 300+PS.

The all-new SUV will join the larger F-Pace, which has helped boost Jaguar’s sales by 83 per cent over the past 12 months. It will also join all-electric I-Pace which will also go on sale in 2018.

Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: “The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.”
