August 2017 DVSA recall round-up: Oil leaks, faulty lights and ABS problems – is your car affected?

Published 16 August 2017

It’s been a huge few weeks for DVSA recalls, with Audi, Jaguar and SEAT recalling tens of thousands of vehicles due to safety problems.

The largest mandatory DVSA recall surrounds the Q3 SUV, with Audi issuing a safety notice for more than 17,000 vehicles due to brake light problem. Jaguar is also recalling some 11,000 XF and XJ models over air bag issues.

Almost 10,000 SEAT Leons and Alteas will need to head back to the service bay due to ABS and ESC problems. According to the DVSA, the earth connection on affected vehicles may be interrupted, causing complete failure of both braking systems.

Thousands of Citroens and Peugeots are also being recalled due to an issue with the starter supply wire. Apparently, the position of the motor supply terminal may cause contact with a neighbouring component and cause a short circuit.
