Announced in the German press(Autobild Nr 47) last week the recall of 2.6milion VAG cars for gearbox problems in the DSG DQ 200 box if your car has this box its part of the recall.VW should write to you but it includes all 1.2 and 1.4 TSI petrol engined cars with this gearbox.

And buy cars from companies which cherish customers rather than treat them with contempt.

Your car is broken notyou don't say how old. I asume you have a quote for fixing the car. You use the example complaints to demonstate there is an issue with the gear box. Your issue is with the dealer as the car is not of merchantable quality under the sales of goods act. Give them 14 days to fix then take to the country court.

If you have had your car for some time and it is out of warranty then all you can do is plead with VW. It would seem lots of people have been in similar positions with their VW car, not just for the well documented DSG problem, and have had little or no help from VW. There is little likelihood of anyone being able to help you with this problem.

If you have bought the car more recently from a dealer then as suggested above your recourse is with the dealer and not VW. You have rights under the Sale of Goods Act to have the vehicle repaired. If the dealer fails to do this then your only option is to take them to court.
