Can you recommend a family MPV with a large boot for short drives?

I'm currently driving a Ford Focus (old style) 1.6 from 2005 but would like to change to a newer car with more boot space as I'm expecting our first child. I want a family car with lots of boot space and a higher driving position. So far I have test driven the Renault Grand Scenic which was very nice. I have excluded the Ford Focus C-Max and normal Scenic due to boot space. I am more keen on a MPV style than an estate, due to styling. Other cars I have considered are the Vauxhall Meriva (old style) and Volkswagen Tiguan but this was too expensive. I don't want anything too wide, for ease of parking, or too expensive to run. I would be willing to spend around £10,000 and am keen to keep general running costs down as much as possible. I currently drive a manual car but would not rule out an automatic. I don't do much mileage and much of my driving will be short journeys, so I had thought about sticking with a petrol engine. I would really welcome your ideas of what else to consider.
