Are other owners experiencing issues with their EGR after the emissions fix?

Within three months of having the emissions modification done on my 2011 Volkswagen Touran my EGR valve packed up. Am I unlucky or is this happening to other Volkswagen owners?

It's been happening a lot. I had a meeting with senior engineers from Wolfsburg yesterday evening. They say the fix would not have affected it and it would probably have been due to existing wear on the EGR valve stem coupled with the colder winter weather. That's what they told me. All I can do is keep recording the failures and see if they slow down once the weather gets warmer, or not.
