Need to buy a 7 seater - used. What should I be looking at?

I have a budget of around £7k and have just split from my husband so need a new 7 seater. I have been used to driving an S-MAX and would like a car with a similar drive but not sure it is more value-for-money to go for a different brand. Is it better to go for lower mileage or go for newer model. Please help as this is all new to me and I am unsure where to start.

You will get an S-Max or a Galaxy for £7k but it will be 7-9 years old with 80k - 120k miles. A Vauxhall Zafira B is a smaller, cheaper 7 seater option. A KIA Carens 7 seater is a reliable choice. Citroen C4 Grand Picassos do the job but can have troublesome rear suspension and a dodgy automated manual gearbox. You could also consider a VW Caddy Maxi Life or a VW Touran.
