Should I replace my diesel Qashqai with the petrol version to avoid DPF problems?

I currently run a Nissan Qashqai 2.0-litre manual diesel. Long runs are now less frequent and I am considering changing to the petrol version to avoid DPF problems etc. in the future. What are the pros and cons of the petrol engines re adequate power and economy? Your opinions would be appreciated.

Wait. The petrol engines are disappointing and the Qashqai will soon get a new chain-cam 130PS Renault 1.6 diesel engine that is the most advanced in the world and includes new fast warm technologies that remove the worry of a clogged DPF.
