Hybrid versus diesel

I drive 100miles round trip to work each day and am thinking of changing my diesel car to a hybrid car. Do you think hybrid cars are good and if so which ones would you recommend?

Yes. They are better now than they were. I did 62.3mpg in my dad's Toyota Auris HSD while delivering it, compared to the 49mpg average I got from a Prius II over 6 months.

Decent combination of ride and handling that might suit some people better than a harder sprung Golf or a Civic. A few inches taller than a Golf of Focus so easier to get in and out.
