Does it cost more to replace the tyres on an EV?

I have been told that to replace the tyres on electric driven cars costs five times that of normal tyres. Is this true and if so why?

Electric vehicles are usually fitted with low rolling resistance tyres to improve efficiency. They also need to be able to cope with the weight of an EV, which is generally more than an equivalent petrol or diesel car. That's why tyres for electric cars are usually more expensive, but it'd be an exaggeration to say they're five times as expensive.
