  hi guys, question on behalf of a friend who has no computer: He has seen a 1999 v reg ford mondeo 1.8TD for sale. 131000 miles. MOT til Nov 09. Tax end Sep 09. Asking price £495. No service history is present. Would this car be suitable for him to drive on a 60 miles daily commute (30 miles each way).

  do ford kas come with cooling fans? and if so where abouts is the cooling fan for the ka located?? had a quick look and i dont know much about cars any way so not too sure?? my engine overheated the other day and someone mentioned to me to check if that was working, how can i go about this??

  I am refurbishing a 1978 ford escort mk2 ghia 4 door and I want to fit rear seat belts. I have found a supplier but do not know the correct location the inertia reel goes ie on the parcel shelf or under it . Also what type of buckle anchors are they the loose belt or solid rod type.

  I have a prob with this ford escort. It will not start. It gives a couple of kicks as if it is going to but then dies again. It will only do this under full throttle and after cranking the engine for a while. I do not get anything from it with the throttle in idle. changed the fuel filter and re gapped plugs. the car has not been serviced for a few years (5). where should i start.

  It is the three button type, lock, unlock and boot release. Are these keys chipped like the older fords and an arm and a leg to get duplicates for? Thanks in advance, Stuart

  My owner's manual say to do that, I suppose that Ford considered that in an area where summer days might climb to over 40 C would be the best choice, but I've read many times that these engines do not tolerate an engine oil different to 5W-30, which is the norm in Europe by the way...

  The reason I ask is that I changed my dials, and I am not really happy with the look bit the needles are slightly damaged so was looking to replace the complete unit but don't want to go through Ford doing the work! Any help appreciated! {subject header given a less vague title}

  There's a UJ and I noticed what I take to be surface rust on the part which can be seen between the UJ and floor. Is this something I should get checked out? It's got a Ford Direct warranty running out soon. Cheers

  hi i have a2001 y reg 1.9tdi ford galaxy when i put the key in the ignition and turn it on the red alarm light flashes on the drivers door and the car will not start ive heard about the problem with relay 30 .stripped the relay box down but found no 30 .some people say for a diesel its the relay marked 109 which my car does have just need some advice to no what to do dont want to replace all relays if not needed ........thanks jase

  These are the shiney polished alloys with the grey painted inserts. They were also an option on the Focus. I have been quoted £148.00 plus VAT each by a Ford dealer. Is there anywhere else you can buy these wheels cheaper? Thanks

  hello, i have a ford focus 1.8 tdci 2003, it has a poor starting problem as in it takes a long time to start but once started drives fine i have fitted the following parts but these hav'nt sorted the problem parts fitted cam sensor and crank sensor E.G.R valve a local mechanic said it could be fuel pump, has anyone got any ideas i need some info asap please driving me nuts thanks in advance

  I converted my st to xenon using the proper projector headlight but had problem using the standard ballast so i bought a kit d2s kit off ebay rewired the headlight back to the plug that was on the standard headlight so it would plug into the cars loom - everything works fine but im not happy with the light output and wanted to try and run the bulbs from the ford ballast. does anyone have any ideas how i can do this

  Hi, I have a 1999 2.5 V6 Ford Cougar. I came out this morning to find that the trip computer/LCD Display was not working. The display was blank. I've looked through the owners manual, checking to see if it may be fuse related however, it doesn't seem to be so.

  Hi- 93 ford fiesta starter motor suddenly stopped working and only now get the clunk of the solenoid but no engagement to turn the engine over - checked for tight wiring connections and a good charged battery but still happening so suspect the starter motor - but might be something else.

  Hello all, I've read a number of responses to similar questions regarding this but none quite seem to relate to the problem I have with my own. I have a 2001 Ford Focus on which the rear passenger side door steadfastly refuses to open. The button on the door will not budge from 'locked' and nothing happens to it if I use the key or the fob (although they have a problem all of their own!).

  Please help! My car ford mondeo won't pass the MOT, because the ABS anti braking light doesn't work. According to the mechanics, the cables were cut (I bought this car in May of this year), they said they tried reconnecting the cables, and then changing the light bulb, but it still doesn't work.

  Please Help, I lost my key fob and key, now I have only one key and no fob, I'am thinking of buying another on ebay £18 or so, Can I programe this new fob to my van (06 old shape) without prob's. can I get a second key programed ?   There have been noises coming from the underside of my Ford Ka, particularly when I go over rough bits of road. I mentioned this to someone and he told me it was probably the link rods. (He has not looked at the car though.) If it is the link rods, a) how serious a problem is it?

  I bought a ford cougar and within a day the engine packed in due to a burst waterpipe. (was ripped off). A local garage has advised a replacement or reconditioned engine rather than new head gaskett etc as he is sure the insides will be roasted.

  I am currently experiencing some engine hesitancy with my Ford Focus 1.8 petrol. When accelerating in 2nd gear, for example, the engine seems reluctant to increase its speed. I have not long had a full service done with spark plugs and all the filters renewed.
