00 1.4 Can I use 15W-40 in a Zetec SE engine? - alvermann
My owner's manual say to do that, I suppose that Ford considered that in an area where summer days might climb to over 40 C would be the best choice, but I've read many times that these engines do not tolerate an engine oil different to 5W-30, which is the norm in Europe by the way... Would such viscosity affect my engine, or the hot weather really requires this thickness?

Ford will have carried out extensive testing. I personally would stick to their recommendations.
