Please Help, I lost my key fob and key, now I have only one key and no fob, I'am thinking of buying another on ebay £18 or so, Can I programe this new fob to my van (06 old shape) without prob's. can I get a second key programed ? I have been to a ford dealer and they want an hours labour to do it, is there another way?

There is a procedure to do it yourself; it should be in the handbook.

Unless things have changed ...
If you have only one key then it is a dealer job.
various prices £100- 150 often quoted.
Cost of a key and an hours labour to tweek the computer to reset the security seems about the going rate.

The handbook may well confirm you need two keys to enable a DIY job of creating a third or more keys.

You can buy a key with or without a fob, get it cut but without the chip being recognised by the car it will not start.

Hi everybody, could you help me?
I recently lost my key fob and one of my keys, so now I have my last blue chip key only, no spare key fob, So I'm going to buy another key fob from an auction site, they tell me this can be reprogramed quite easy, with instructions like switch key to the 11 position and turn it on and off several times etc,etc, is this the case or will I be disapointed.?
also is there anyone out there that would be able to reprogram another key for me or put me in touch with someone that could do this ?
Fords want an arm and a leg to do this...Please help
