BMW 5 Series 2019 530e or 520d - Changed my mind... I think. 17 Mar 2023 (Forum)
So looking at 68/19 plate ones with around 35k and full service history, plenty of M sport and SE ones. Whats backroomers views on the 5 series? ive only ever owned Ford Modeos etc, not really a badge snob but I was very impressed by the car. Im in my mid 40's now and want a bit of comfort / luxury. Looked at the e class too, but do prefer the Beemer. the 530e is a similar price, yes heaver with the lbattery but plenty of HP to componsate. -

Passat CC or Audi A4 ? 25 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I am replacing my company car, for the last 4 years I've had a Toyota Avensis 2.2 D, which has been a very relaxing, dependable and reasonably quick car. I have a choice from a fixed list, and have discounted already the Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCI ( underpowered & ubiquitous) Saab 1.9 TDI 120 Linear - Old and unattractive, Mazda 6 - Unbeleiveably plasticky and tinny, like a 1980's Datsun Cherry with its corduroy seats. and Amstrad HI FI Dashboard. -
Global Cool ! 1 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Not everyone is in a position to be selective about the car they drive however more fundamentally this assertion is simply untrue. Firstly small turbo diesel cars like Toyota's own Yaris D4D, a Ford Focus etc contain as much as 50% less embedded carbon (carbon produced in manufacture and disposal) than a Prius and produce a comparably low amount of C02 in use. However more broadly from an automotive perspective carbon would be reduced more quickly if car production decreased therefore it would be much better if we all continued to drive our current vehicles until they simply stopped running. -
Used cars of the year 13 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Sub £4,000 Mazda MX5 As above, you’ll get an early MK III for this money, just watch for rot. Best MPV £8,000 Ford S-Max 1.6 Ecoboost. Almost diesel economy yet none of the reliability issues they suffer from. Rare though as most are diesel powered which again if bought well a 2.0 TDCi can serve you well but just budget for potential problems.
