radio intermittent on FM only-volvo 850 27 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Fine on AM, LW, cassete but FM sometime fine & then it drops to almost inaudible (can just hear voices at max vol). This usually accompanies going over a road bump & whilst it's being quiet you can here power thumps going over other bumps. Have had it out-checked all conections & cleaned. What should I be conncentrating on-aerial short at body end? -
recc sensible VW Golf Forum please? 28 Sep 2005 (Forum)
So out of the seemingly infinite amount of VW forums out there which one is the most sensible for the non 'max power' generation please? For what it's worth here's the original post: Hiya. I'd like to address an annoyance in the above car, which showed up during tour of France some while ago. Essentially it seems to need thinking time between pressing the accelerator for a swift overtake & actually doing it. -

Vauxhall Ecotec 16v Engines - Advice 3 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Following a recent post and advice from Corsa: If you have a 16V Ecotec Engine, get the cambelt changed every 40K miles max without fail. At the same time make sure that the tensioners etc and waterpump are changed. The water pump needs to be changed as these are prone to wear and fail causing the belt to break. Vauxhall DO NOT do this as standard practice, despite the fact that my local dealer said they were aware of the problem. -
Arrggghh bird droppings! 24 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Car was parked at night time so as all birds were sleeping it could only have been "dropped" at dawn - I can't believe it could have etched itself in a matter of 3 hours max! Any suggestions? I've tried searching for this but have already tried all suggested methods. I'm wondering about a dab of white spirit but am seriously worried about damaging paint work further. -
I'm so very very sorry. 5 May 2004 (Forum)
So with heavy heart switch on front fog lamps and one remaining dipped headlamp, dial in maximum load to depress the lamps to the max and head off up the M27 and M3, on into central London. I apologise. I really do. Suffice to say I will be whipping the headlamp out this evening to sort this. I'll probably post something pithy about the moron that designed the lamp access on the 156 as well. -
New 2nd hand car 23 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I do about 10,000 mile pa and i don't like super mini's or medium sized cars, i want a bigger car like a 406. So what should i get, max of 30K on the clock and totally flawless reliability, i.e. nothing should be spent on the car in those 5 years apart from consumables (asking a lot i know) Undecided over diesel or petrol, and i must be proud of it. -
Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - Brake fluid - is it corrosive? 12 Apr 2002 (Forum)
I thought they would arrive with a small syphon - but no - a rag stuffed into the top of the master cylinder to soak up the excess until it was down to the MAX line. Then he poured a little (I mean a little) water over the chassis leg - when I questioned this he told me that brake fluid is no longer corrosive - IS THIS TRUE? -
The Fast And The Furious 15 Feb 2002 (Forum)
After all, this is America where it's okay for kids to watch cars street racing in the city at 160mph and fine for kids to see people shooting each other to bits but not okay for them to see any sex. Can anyone identify the other motors? Obviously there must have been a feature in Max Power or Rves that passed me by. HJ -
