EVs and brake lights 2 Jan 2023 (Forum)
I've never driven an EV but AFAIK, they have regenerative braking and this may be adjustable so that at max, the brakes would only be called upon to bring the car to a halt or when heavy deceleration is required. Broadly correct? Followed a Tesla this morning and later, my neighbour in his new eNiro. -
Peugeot 407hdi 2.0 - Lacks power peugeot 407hdi 2.0 4 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Car drives well, smooth, pulls okish in lower gears, but in 5th 6th it's very flat, up at 50mph, put foot flat on the floor and accelerates poorly up to 70 sometimes seems as if 70 is the max and won't go any more, it's been diagnosed twice by a Peugeot specialist and another garage , both stumped by it, no faults showed apart from Maf sensor which was replaced ,no turbo faults came up,no faults on dash , there's no whistling, no smoke, all very frustrating drives well, just flat . -
Difficult to find car comparison specs 2 Oct 2015 (Forum)
I want to know luggage capacity seats up and seats down. And how long an item (like a piece of furniture) can I slide into the boot with seats down so the max dimensions of the boot. But can I find the details? Aargh, apparently not without downloading each and every brochure. Even looking at classes of cars is not a great help as the boundaries are blurred in some ways Anyone know an easy way to find these stats? -
Renault Scenic buying advice 22 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I apreciate it may not be the wisest of choices given some of the reliability problems reported but I loved my 51 plate scenic (Ernie - I miss him daily) and I hate my supposedly ultra reliable Focus C-Max so I'm making the decision with heart over head. Hoping someone might be able to advise me model wise. I'm looking at the 04-09 models and thinking the 1.5 Diesel as a good compromise with power/economy. -
1st car - £3K-£4K budget 20 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Hello all, I'm looking to buy my first car in the next couple of months, budget is around £4K max. I''ve been looking at Toyota Aygo, Honda Jazz, Kia Picanto and what seems like dozens of other identi-kit cars. I much prefer the Aygo so far. Anyway, are these cars all much of a muchness, or is there 1 that particularly stands out for any reason? -

Citroen C5 Auto HDI Registered late June 2008 - PAS Fluid container/reservoir 22 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Have a problem with a slight weep on one of the PAS pipes which is being fixed next week, but in the meantime have topped up the reservoir with half a litre of LDS fluid but there does not appear to be a Max or Min mark in the neck of the reservoir. I have just topped up and brought the level to the base of the small well or neck of the reservoir. Is this okay and or should I leave room for any expansion of the fluid during driving? -

Volkswagen Bora - Reason for water temp gauge fluctuation? 30 Mar 2010 (Forum)
Recently have noticed this not getting above a quarter. Today noticed that when heater was turned up to max and fan switched on that water temp gauge fell from normal position to lower quarter. Car idles well, fuel economy as before and does not require top ups of coolant. Did put VAG-COM on and got a message for intermittent engine coolant temp sensor. -
Renault Laguna (1994 - 2001) - 00 1.9 Has my heater matrix gone ? 18 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Hi all, I have a Laguna 1.9 DTI alize, the temperature light on the dash is coming on intermittently and the footwell in the passenger side is wet, i have to keep putting the heater on to clear the windows as they keep steaming up. however the engine temperature is normal (halfway) and i am not losing any any coolant from the expansion tank, it always seems to be full to the max line. It is an air con model but it has never worked since i had the car (2yrs) any advice much appreciated -
Renault Megane (1996 - 1998) - 96 1.6 Car been runnning on low brake fluid 9 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Only had my car 2 weeks but a garage pointed out that the brake fluid level is insufficient. It is just below the min mark but should be nearer the max mark. I have been told that whilst driving with low fluid air could have got in to the system and it would need bleeding at a cost of £25. Is this correct and have I done any damage? Can I just top it up with new fluid? -
