96 1.6 Car been runnning on low brake fluid - Focus_Driver
Only had my car 2 weeks but a garage pointed out that the brake fluid level is insufficient. It is just below the min mark but should be nearer the max mark. I have been told that whilst driving with low fluid air could have got in to the system and it would need bleeding at a cost of £25. Is this correct and have I done any damage? Can I just top it up with new fluid?
This does explain why there is a lot of travel when braking.

Yes it does. Air in the system will give you a long pedal. Have the fluid changed and bled, after checking all the brake pad wear thicknesses and checked for ant leaks. Regards Peter
