  On Monday morning I was presented with an electric Ford Transit minibus for appraisal. On turning it on it’s immediately evident that it’s also not fit for purpose with an estimated range of just 115 miles! This plummeted to 88 miles after a run of 17 miles in good weather and driven gently.

   I prefer the look of the Audi but the Focus has more extras and I imagine is more comfortable for commuting as the Audi has Sport suspension (although I think this isn’t as harsh as S Line suspension?) and 19” alloys.   Are Audi massively more expensive for servicing and parts?  Paul

  I've got a fiesta 1.3 finesse, 98 s - reg. it's a really good car, but.... it loses power. not all the power, about 15% of it at various times and only for about 10-15 seconds or so. e.g crusing along the motorway, keeping up with traffic (you know the speed), then the "power loss" kicks in and the engine can be heard slowing down, and the speed drops thro 70 down to about 65, then after 15 seconds it all picks back up and normality returns. it used to do it once in a while (once a month (?))

The boot lid is from a Ford Focus, glass roof from a Merc, headlights from a Range Rover, Mazda MX5 petrol cap, leather seats from a Volvo S60, door mirrors from an Audi TT, spoilers from an MG Maestro. The paint was designed for Metros.

  So it would seem to him that my only option would be to replace the engine with another H.C.S. lump. My thinking is that it's not the piston ring/s that have worn but the stem seals. If anyone could enlighten me more i would much appreciate it. thanks.

  It doesn’t need to be an out and out fun car but it does need to be something I want to drive just for the pleasure of it, something I want to stand in the garage and admire nightly with a tinnie or two. Now this is a complex subject with me as I like such a verity of cars from 80’s Saab 900’s through hot Peugeot’s, Fast Fords from the late 90’s and naughties to Japanese coupes like the MX6, Celica and Prelude. I’m in no rush as old Terrance is as ever unfailingly loyal and there’s a waiting list for him when I finally do succumb to stupidity and sell in favour of heart over head.

  Car - Merc C240, 91,000 miles. 1998 vintage, automatic 5-speed. Problem: Round town or city, the car is fine. But on the motorway or dual carriageway it\'s a different story. It will cruise along at 70 fine, no problems, but when I start to overtake it\'s not very energetic. It will change down, and accelerate, but once you hit 4,500 rpm, it runs out of steam.
