  • Halfords stainless steel hose clips 26 May 2010 (Forum)
I noticed they were selling SS hose clips the other day. Narrower and seemingly of thinner metal though, than the galvanized type. It`s a while since I saw actual Jubilee brand clips - it might have been in the tool shop in Meadowhall shopping centre. Will need one in a few years for the bottom hose on the Panda.... (think I will go for a Jubilee brand) Are you always looking at parts like this?

  • Car choices with boot space in? 18 Feb 2010 (Forum)
We never use the 2 back seat so even with them permanently folded we need more space! We're looking at larger estates and 4x4's. With a budget of around £15k we are struggling to find the best option. Top of the list so far is the Pathfinder, a fully specced Aventura, 56/07 plate, manual, diesel. This is based on size and reasonable running costs and not too big a list of common faults.

Here is a very high definition photo I took of a stained glass window. (It`s high definition so you can study it in forensic detail) Describe the landmarks you would pass as you motored towards it from home (without naming it) and the defining external architectural feature of this particular Cathedral.
  • Your cars. What have you `re-engineered` 18 May 2009 (Forum)
You know how it`s often said that `manufacturer knows best` - despite turning out cars with known issues where it turns out the owner is doing the final stage of deevelopment. What have you found? and more to the point.

Am getting a loud crunching noise from the rear N/S of Fiat Punto when going over speed bumps or potholes or bouncing rear up and down. Nothing is broken or rubbing as far as can be seen. • Warranty invalidated by National? 4 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My lay understanding of the legal position is that the warranty is not invalidated providing that parts meeting the manufacturer?s specification are used. Anyone have experience of this? This is not a name and shame exercise. If their advice is correct their unusual candour may have done me a huge favour. made vehicle non-specific.
  • When did we have to stop changing the water hoses? 8 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Even in the 1970's we were urged to change water hoses regularly ; indeed a spare top and bottom hose was sometimes carried in the boot. The practice seem to disappear almost overnight, presumeably due to material improvements.
  • Dealers and e-mails 7 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Seen quite a few on AutoTrader and have e-mailed numerous dealer using the 'contact us' section on their websites. I used the e-maill option so I could give full details of my p/x and stress I was s erious buyer with cash waiting. Not a single, solitary one has replied. They range from main dealers to independents. If they can't be bothered to make the effort to sell, what would they be like if there was a problem.
