Hi, I have a 1999 Ford Focus with a central locking problem. If I press the "lock" button on the key fob - all doors will attempt to lock, but then ping open again (lock and then unlock). And if I press the unlock button on the key fob, only the driver's door unlocks opens.
  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 02 1.3 Rear wiper blade problem 9 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I've had this problem on my Ford Ka Style for a couple of years now, but enough's enough and I'd like to get it sorted before the bad weather sets in. The problem is in the shape of the rear window and flexibility (or lack) of the rear wiper blade; when the wiper's switched on it's too inflexible to stay in contact with the whole of the (very domed) rear window and so ends ups only wiping an arc about 6 inches high at the top of the window.

  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 03 1.3 buzzing noise under hard acceleration 27 May 2009 (Forum)
I've had my Ford Ka for over 5 years and a new problem seems to have occurred. On Monday during the course of a journey, I stopped on a narrow road to let a lorry past, and when I pulled off again, there was an unpleasant buzzing noise which had not been there previously.
  • Ford Focus saloon (2005 - ) - 05 1.6 Car Jumping/Lurching at 2000 revs? 12 May 2009 (Forum)
Hi I have a Ford Focus Ghia 1.6 100ps 55 plate vehicle, which I have owned from new with no major problems before. However since February when driving the car, when slowing down such as approaching a roundabout or climbing a hill, when the revs get to 2000 (sometimes 3000) then the car jumps, like a kangaroo until it disappears by keeping your foot hard on the accelerator.
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2001 1.6 - Changed Cabin Filter 9 May 2009 (Forum)
    Does that mean its not leaking or is it that its not leaking enough and water is getting soaked up by all the carpety stuff under the hood? How do I test for this leak and is it worth spending £13 on the adhesive stuff from Ford? Its a 2001 Y 1.6L Thanks {teleported across to Technical Matters}
  • Ford StreetKa (2003 - ) - 04 1.6 Engine light on colour amber 30 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Dear All, I am wondering if anyone could please give me some advice on this matter, my Ford StreetKA currently has it's engine light on permanently and when diagnosed by the AA i was told this could be the sensors, i took the car to a garage and they cancelled the computer error and said that it was indicating a problem with the CAT and not the sensors, but said that I should try to use super unleaded which may stop the light coming on again.
  • Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - Which automatic, petrol or diesel ? 3 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I'm looking to buy a new, or nearly new Ford Mondeo Automatic in the near future and was wondering if any backroomers have experienced driving the 2.3 petrol and the 2.0 diesel automatics and could advise which was the best drive. I only do around 6k miles per annum, so I understand the cost differentials would probably favour a petrol.

Hi all, I've bought a Ford Focus sport 115 bhp 04 plate a few months back. Its now done 90k and since I bought it in December it has yet to impress me with fuel consumption. The car's had a full service, and has been driven easily with a mixture of town and motorway.

  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 Cause of higher petrol consumption? 2 Mar 2009 (Forum)
I drive a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol which is a 99T with about 78k miles. I had a service last month and when I got home afterwards and looked at the invoice, it said that the oil used was 10w/40. The next day I told the garage the oil should really be 5w/30 and they agreed to change it.
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 Possible Clutch fault ? 9 Feb 2009 (Forum)
The car concerned is a 1999 Ford Focus 1.8 petrol which has done 78k miles. I have owned the car since 2004 and have always thought that the clutch "biting" point is near the top of the pedal travel compared with other cars I have driven.
  • Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 96 1.8 windscreen washer system failure 7 Feb 2009 (Forum)
When you operate the front or back you used to get a noise when the pump was trying/working. This has stopped with the increase of the problem. I was informed by Ford to check if when operating the system water appeared to come from the area around the pump incase pipes had been blasted off the pump. This produce no joy, have check the owners manual for fuse diagram to check this avenue.

I have a T reg Ford Focus 1.8 petrol which has done 78k miles. I have worked out that since the last oil change which was last November, the engine has consumed about 500ml (0.5 quart/litre) of oil whilst covering about 1000 miles.

Hello, I have a 1996 (N reg) Ford Fiesta (Ghia) with 1242 engine. It is over-revving when in moving in neutral. So even if I go down the hill in neutral, the rpm will begin to rise. Also, when changing the gears the revs will be very high.
  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - reliability getting worse according to ADAC? 15 Nov 2008 (Forum)
On the recent ADAC thread, Jase1 posted a link to a summary of the results www.weltzeituhr.com/reise/adac-pannenstatist2.shtml One of the most striking things about this, is that the Ford Ka, which was one of the most reliable vehicles of all back in 2001-2002 , decliined sharply in reliability in 2003, and remained at this poorer level in 2004-2005. Why? Anything to do with the introduction of the Sportka / Streetka?
  • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1996 1.3 Drivers door only opens when the engine i 22 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I can live with this it is a fairly minor problem, I assume its that the lock is not reading the code on the keys and thus thinks its a robber trying any old Ford key, but when the engine is running it knows I am not a robber and opens the locks. Is there any easy way to fix this? I don't mind taking the door card off but I don't want to imbolise the car completly if I do something wrong.
