  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2004 Edge TDCi 115 - ABS light problem 8 Jan 2016 (Forum)
The actual ABS works as it should as I have had it operating off the public roads and it works fine. I have had the problem looked at a Ford dealer and they have said that there are no stored previous faults or current fault codes present. My concern is that come MOT time in March it will fail due to the ABS light not coming on and going out when the ignition is turned on.

  • Ford Mondeo - Buying petrol mondeo 2007 onward Potential issues? 10 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Evening all, I recently had a ford focus 1.6 diesel which is now about to be written off due to a nonfault crash. I'm looking at really upgrading from my 10 year old focus to a newer Mondeo. What do I need to know/ask? The reason I'm concerned is that I was stung by needing a new turbo in the focus which (I was told on here) is a relatively common issue with those cars.
  • Ford Focus - Focus Speedo Problem 5 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Hi all I have the infamous speedometer problem on my 2002 1.6 Ford Focus.  Speedo drops to 0, engine gets a little "jumpy" etc. Here's the thing - I bought a brand new speed sensor exactly this time last year and got it replaced (yes it was definitely replaced, I deal with a very honest and trustworthy guy, funnily enough called John.
  • Ford Ka - Insurance/Courtesy cars/Hire cars 30 Apr 2014 (Forum)
My daughter has just been involved in an accident ( 100% NOT HER FAULT ) but unfortunately her precious ford ka has been written off. The car was only worth about £400 and the rear end damage was obviously over and above the worthiness of the car. Her insurance company sent out a recovery team and the vehicle was taken some 25 miles away and because its a write off they are not going to give her a courtesy car, even though they are delaying the write off process by having their engineers have a look at it.

  • Ford Focus Estate TDCI Estate. - What Clutch?. 23 Jun 2013 (Forum)
My question is, Is it a DMF fitted to this vehicle?. (If it is), Then im only too familiar with the Ford dealerships rubbing their hands in anticipation of the £1200/1300 + VAT Sir, they're fond of quoting. Which in effect mean's a cheap "bargain" vehicle becomes a very expensive one. Or im sure, i've read somewhere that some focus diesel's of that era had convenional clutches/flywheels fitted.
  • Mazda 6, Skoda Octavia, VW Passat, Ford Mondeo? - Best value Family Estate for around £5000 19 Jun 2013 (Forum)
With a budget of around £5-6k, and annual mileage of around 8,000 miles, I don't know whether or not to go for: A 4 year old VW Passat 1.6 Diesel with +140K miles on the clock A 7 year old Mazda 2.0 Diesel with 65K miles on the clock A 5 year old Skoda Octavia 1.6 with 40K miles on the clock A 5 year old Ford Mondeo, with 60K miles on the clock Or am I missing a trick - and should I be looking for something comletely different!? The trade off for age vs High mileage vs Petrol consumption is too complicated - I'm not sure where to start!

hi, wonder if anyone can tell me this.  have tried to look at ford online parts catalogue but can't seem to find one, or access one.  maybe its just for trade?  Anyway, my Fiesta had a fight with a pheasant this morning - the pheasant won - my passenger mirror is off.
  • Ford Mondeo - Clutch problems 27 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I have a Ford Mondeo - diesel - 2009 reg and it has done 45,000 miles.   I was in a multi storey car park last night and a queue of traffice. This meant that I had to do a lot of start and stops - gear changes - starting on a slop etc.
  • 2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ghia X Petrol - Spluttering with pulling away 24 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I bought a 2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ghia X Petrol about a year and a half ago and when driving it had a slight splutter/judder every now and then. I have seen a few posts on here with a similar issue, but on the Diesel version.
  • Audi - Affordable Car to Maintain 13 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Hi all. Just looking for a little advice. I have nearly always owned a Ford. My first car was a Volvo S40, but since then every car I have had has been a Ford. From Petrol V6s to my current TDCi Diesel. I work 30 miles away, so rack up about 400+ miles per week - hence the diesel.
  • Ford Fiesta TDCI 05 plate - Fiesta TDCI misfire 28 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I wonder if this and the fault are directly linked. It is a great little car, very reliable but I'll admit has not been serviced by Ford and therefore may have missed out on any software upgrades. Cheers
  • Ford v Skoda (or others) - Which small/medium auto? 28 May 2012 (Forum)
Now I'm looking to buy another small/medium size automatic (about 3 years old) and I'd really appreciate your views again on the reliability of auto gearboxes. I'm currently considering a Skoda Fabia or a Ford Fusion - are there issues with either of these? (I think the Fusion has a proper torque converter but not sure about the Fabia, which is tiptronic) Are there other cars of a similar size I might consider?
  • Ford CMAX 1.6 TDCi Titanium 2010 - CMAX CD player 20 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I took the car back to the dealer with a photo of the error message and after a bit of hassle the unit was changed under warranty. The new one is little better and still toasting CDs although I haven't had an error message yet. Ford Customer Services know about this problem which I think is unacceptable but they haven't come up with a solution yet. Anybody else out there with a similar problem in a new model CMAX?
  • Ford Mondeo - 57 plate mondeo TDI help please 17 Nov 2011 (Forum)
On a cold start it would turn over, start and die, after doing this for 20 minutes something would quietly click and off we went. if it was stood all day, the same would happen at teatime. On a warm star, no probs at all. Its gone back to the garage/dealer who have had to Ford, who have tinkered with the computer (this normally sorts this issue apparently) but its still there. T he mechanic has now suggested taking the hose off the turbo and seeing if it continues doing it.
