  • Suzuki Alto - Suzuki Alto 1.0L Auto 2011 - 3700 miles - price? 12 Dec 2021 (Forum)
It's the 1.0 Auto flavour with 3700 miles (yes, 3700 not 37000). Not sure on trim level, but its the silver colour. MOT history is a broken horn in 2015  and a cut tyre in 2019. That's it. No other advisories or failures in its lifetime. I believe it has some service history. Mot due Feb 2022. Registered 18th Feb 2011 From doing some checking its a chain cam / torque converter combination so presumably super reliable.

  • 2010 Golf 6 spd dsg - Used car previous fault 18 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Unfortunately the issue has only worsened, and he decided, rightly in my view, that he was rejecting the car under the consumer rights act 2015 as it was less than 30 days old, and informed the dealer of this via email and phone-call. I am driving the car back to the dealer in London on Saturday morning - exactly 7 days since the purchase.

  • honda frv - air con fault 3 months after purchase 28 Jul 2018 (Forum)
im trying to find out what my rights are under the consumer rights act 2015. ill try and bullet point rather than a huge storey. bought the car in march (snow on the ground then) everything was fine. I commented at the time i couldnt test the aircon because it was so cold independednt inspection dated 6 months previous says aircon was working (not including gassing) weather warms up and i start using the aircon. notice there was a whiring sound when its turned on and revs drop suggesting compressor kicks in. within a week or so this stops so i take it to dealer for regassing that lasted a couple of weeks so take it for diagnosing. condenser and receiever pipe is corroded the car has a 15 month warranty but not covering corrosion used car dealer says 'his legal team' this is classed as service parts so they are not liable.
  • Peugeot 3008 - Used car fault after purchase 4 May 2018 (Forum)
I had it towed to the garage i purchased it from and although they haven't given me an estimate on the repair cost, it's obvious from emails and phone calls that they intend to charge me normal parts / labour costs. I've done a bit of research and discovered that the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 states that if the purchase of a car is over 30 days but less than 6 months ago then you have the right to demand the car be fixed at no cost because the law implies that the fault was probably there when you purchased it unless the garage can prove otherwise.
  • BMW X3 - MOT History indicates incorrect milage 17 Aug 2017 (Forum)
But yesterday I went to check when the MOT was due and noticed that the milage doesnt add up.. According to VOSA the MOT milage in Aug 2015 was 75k and in Sep 2016 it was recorded as 58k., speaking to them they also tell me that the historical milage cannot be ammended. The service book indicates milage consistent with the 58k The car was bought on as a BMW Approved car  A vehicle milage check certificate (Experian) was provided (which specifically states they check DNVLA) , this was done in July 2016 (before the Sept MOT but they would have been given the current milage).
  • Parking fine whilst on holiday in Jersey 23 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Hot footed it round to the parking penalty office to appeal in person, to be told "there's your problem, the blue badge expired in 2015" Astonished to find we were in fact displaying the old badge. After a minute of head scratching, I realised my stupid mistake: In order to park the car at Luton airport we were advised to take a photocopy of the current blue badge.
  • Toyota RAV4 D-4D - Blown Turbo again 2 Apr 2017 (Forum)
In November 2015 my Rav blew its turbo and after investigating a replacement from some decidedly dodgy companies i decided to bite the bullet and get a proper Garret reconditioned unit from BTN turbos. The unit comes with a 2 year garauntee and that peace of mind cost me around £700.

  • VW Tiguan - VW software upgrade 29 Sep 2016 (Forum)
I have a VW 2015 2L Tiguan TDI BMT 4MOTN with a DSG gearbox. Yes you've guessed it, in June the software was changed (23R7) under the Nox recall and resulted in a significant rattle when under power at ~1500rpm.
  • Mercedes B class (245) 2006 1.5 Petrol - Could not connect to ECU, link failure 2 Jul 2016 (Forum)
When bought the car there was SRS warning, brake light warning and display error warning. I have a maxidiag 802 which can read almost all the cars up to 2015. The A class previously had SRS warning which I did reset using the same machine. But this time I could not communicate with the ECU of the car and machine kepp saying link error. I have checked the voltage on the OBD II port and that was showing 14V which I think is ok.
