    A 45k mile 03 reg Honda Accord 2.4 Executive auto with comfortable 16” alloys sold for £9,000. A 59k mile 02 reg BMW 530iSE (but manual) sold for £9,350. A 91k mile 2001X SEAT Leon 1.6S sold for £3,150. A 57k mile 02 reg Golf IV V5 170 5-dpeed Tiptronic sold for £6,800. A 27k mile Y reg bright red MR2 sold for £8,000.

    A 49k mile 97P SLK 230K with a preposterous set of alloys was. Selling for just £10,150. An 8k mile 2003/53 BMW Z4 3.0 auto was fair money at £23,900. A 27k mile 02 reg Mercedes S320 CDI sold for £26,500. An old shape 34k mile 2001/51 BMW 735i looked like a mega bargain if it came for the £15,800 bid.

    As one trader remarked, “will it every be a nice car?” Top bid was just £5,500, at which it sold. Older BMWs have now got to be very smart to make the money. £2,250 was really quite dear for a clean 93k mile 92J (so 12 year old) 320i Coupe. Top bid for a 128k mile 96N 316iSE was £2,300. While a very clean 89k mile 95M (9 year old) 318iSE sold for a startling £3,400.
  • E60 525iSE at Auction Today 19 Apr 2004 (News)
    Traders tell me it’s not the first time an E60 5-Series has been seen at auction. Apparently, one made big money in the Midlands in December. The Blackbushe BMW in the photo was a 5k mile 2003/53 525iSE, list price £28,500 new and a bit less bought via Drivethedeal. But this one was loaded with leather, BMW’s excellent front and rear park-distance control and the mixed blessing of Active steering with 18 inch wheels.

    A scruffy 35k mile 02 reg RAV-4 D-4D VX with no service history made a staggering 15,400 Northern Irish pounds. A smart, silver 63k mile 2000X BMW 530iSE Touring automatic was reserved at £13,400 yet went on to make ££14,150. A 25k mile 03 reg Audi A6 TDI 130 sold for a stiff £14,750. A 38k mile 2001X BMW 525iSE auto sold for £13,850.

    Yet all a 12k mile 02 reg Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 Lusso six-speed bid to was £13,150; half the new list price. BMW 3-Series coupes were strong as ever. A 52k mile 99T 318iS 1.9 with a/c sold for £8,650; a 50k 96P 318iS 1.8 with sunroof but no air sold for £6,700; and a 57k mile 97P 316i coupe without air or sunroof sold for £5,500.

    They don’t come much sportier than a 60,000 mile 98S Mazda MX5 1.8 in a nice metallic blue with alloys. It sold for £7,250. Or what about a 97R BMW Z3 1.9 with an extremely doubtful 1 mile on the odo? £9,900, and the first time I’ve seen one under ten grand. Need an MPV? A smart, but 102,000 mile 2000W Picasso HDI Exclusive with a full length sunroof went for £5,100.

Hall 1 had a Top Car Sale, some highlights of which were a LHD T reg BMW Z3 2.8 litre Coupe, bid to £14,700; a 10,000 mile 2000W BMW 330i automatic convertible with hardtop, bid to £32,400; a 61,000 mile 1998R Jaguar XJR8 Supercharged, sold for a reasonable £18,300; a 21,000 mile 99T Audi A8 4.2 Quattro Sport, sold for £28,600 and a 14,000 mile 2000W Mercedes ML430 automatic, sold for £33,200.

  • Future classics set for crusher after car makers launch scrappage schemes 22 Aug 2017 (News)
    And the manufacturer says classics will not be exempt, adding it will be up to buyers if they want their trade-in to be turned into soup cans. It is the latest in a raft of manufacturer-backed schemes, with car makers like Mercedes, BMW and Mini recently introducing diesel-only scrappage schemes. Vauxhall has also had a scrappage scheme running on and off for the past few years. Top Ten: Cars killed by the scrappage scheme However, Government plans for a diesel scrappage scheme are still ongoing – with a further review promised later in the year.

    The meticulously maintained Ghia 2.8i was expected to make up to £6000 when it went across the block. A BMW 320 (E30) Convertible that had received £7000-worth of renovation work sold for £4125. The car had covered 110k and had recently had a new rear screen and hood fitted as well as suspension refresh.
  • Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Infiniti Q30 makes debut 15 Sep 2015 (News)
    The Infiniti Q30, the family hatchback that’s one of two make-or-break cars for the Japanese brand in the UK, has made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 ahead of going on sale in late 2015. The Q30 is an alternative to the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.   • Modern and classic on display at the Regent Street Motor Show 21 Oct 2013 (News)
    As well of the London-Brighton starrung veteran cars, the Regent Street event will include current and future models from some of the world’s leading manufacturers. BMW will be displaying the new i3 (below) alongside the 4 Series. Renault will be plugging the zero emission benefits of electric vehicles with its ZOE and Twizy models. It will also be showcasing the all-new Clio and Captur.
  • Video: Alfa Romeo 4C sets new Nürburgring record 18 Oct 2013 (News)
    The lap time makes the 4C the record holder for engines producing less than 250PS, beating the likes of the BMW M3 and RenaultSport Megane 265 Trophy. The record was set by German journalist - and Nürburgring specialist - Horst von Saurma on 12 September with Pirelli Zero Trofeo tyres, which will be an option on the production car in either 17-inch (front) and 18-inch (rear) or 18-inch front and 19-inch rear, Nicknamed 'Green Hell', the Nordschleife is notorious for its challenging configuration of slow and fast curves, as well as straight stretches and undulations.
  • Next MINI to come with head-up display 11 Oct 2013 (News)
    MINI has revealed that the next generation MINI hatchback, due to be launched next year, will come with a range of new driver assist system including a head-up display option. It will mean the MINI is the first small car to have such a feature. As BMW was one of the first manufacturers to offer head-up display it's no surprise to see it featuring on the new MINI, however it's a cheaper version which uses a small flip-up perspex screen rather than projecting the information onto the windscreen.

    Tom is learning to drive in his MINI One D , which he was given as a present for his 17 th birthday in May. Tom is a member of the BMW London 2012 Performance Team, an initiative to support London 2012 hopefuls in the run up to the Olympics next year. Tom Daley commented: "With the amount of travelling from home to the pool that I have to do, I'm obviously desperate to get my licence as soon as possible so it's great that MINI are helping me on my way to that as well as on my journey to London 2012.
