  The standard £2,000 Scrappage incentive is made up of a £1,000 discount off the price of any new Nissan, including Nissan’s LCV range, courtesy of the Government, and a further £1,000 reduction from Nissan for owners of pre-1999 models*. However, Nissan is extending the £2,000 minimum trade-in offer to models aged 8-10 years old for any customer choosing one of the car maker’s British built range – that includes any new Micra, Note, Qashqai or Qashqai+2.

  Sunderland site steps up Nissan production 31 Jan 2008 (News)
  The vehicle, available in four and front-wheel drive, as well as five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission, helped push production at the site to 353,000 last year. Nissan adds that this makes it the UK's largest producer and exporter of automobiles, with the company hoping to hit the 400,000 mark this year. The Sunderland site was originally developed as a way of deflating the cost of exporting Nissan cars to European customers at less expense.

Some 686,500 Sentra and Altima vehicles have been recalled by Nissan after a fault was discovered in the installed software.

  Nissan UK has been forced to stop imports of the Cube , meaning the untimely end of one of the more unusual cars on the market. Nissan had already brought in 1000 examples of the quirky people carrier, which is built in Japan, but the poor exchange rate between the Yen and the Pound means there will be no more cars coming to the UK.

  The number of vehicles sold by vehicle manufacturer Nissan over the course of last month is up, according to the firm. Announcing that 50,542 of its units were sold during January, the company stated that this marks a 71.9 per cent rise over the same period in 2007.
