  A 72k mile 03 reg MINI Cooper in red with a white roof but with no a/c or CD player sold for £6,325. A 128k mile 2000W Mercedes S320L went for export for £11,600. A 70k mile 2001/51 facelift BMW 320dSE 150 sold for £7,250. And a 65k mile 03 reg Mondeo LX TDCI 130 estate sold for £4,700. So there were a few bargains to be had today. Here’s a longer list. The event featured a 2007-registered BMW 635i Sports Convertible sold for £33,000 at 15,000 miles, (106% CAP), a 2005 Jaguar XK8 4.2 V8 Convertible realised £21,300 at 38,000 miles (114% CAP) and a 2003 Mercedes CLK 3.2 Elegance realised £8,500 at 127,000 miles – equivalent to 115% of CAP Clean.

  Not everything was, of course, but we’ll start with the good news. The 2000V BMW 323CI in the photo had done a bit of work. But, in spite of 120k under its wheels, £9,250 still looked fair to me. A facelift 150bhp 45k mile 2001/51 320dSE also looks a good buy at £12,950, and had been reserved even lower at £12,300.

  Heavy Metal at Auction Today 2 May 2003 (News)
  There were some very tasty motors in the Arriva PHH section at BCA Blackbushe today. Traders crowded around the12,000 mile 51 reg BMW M5 in the photo and bid it to £34,000, which wasn’t quite enough. But plenty of others were selling. A 400bhp 35k mile 2000T Bentley Arnage 6.8 litre Red Label sold for £62,400, which made it a bargain for someone.

  Pre-Christmas Clearout at Auction Today 14 Dec 2001 (News)
  Plenty of other cheapies included a top spec 18,000 mile 2001X Celica 1.8 VVTI with leather, sold for £14,350; an 86,000 mile 99T BMW 520i with a/c sold for £8,300; a 100,000 mile 98S BMW 318iS coupe in silver sold for £6,400; and a 67,000 mile 97R Merc C180 Classic with a/c sold for £5,900. Among the part-exchanges, you could also pick up a nice, clean, respectable car for the same price as a Playstation 2.

  Big Stuff Goes Belly-up at Auction 8 Jun 2001 (News)
  Hot on the heels of the Labour landslide victory, the ground slipped away under big, expensive fuel-guzzling cars. Sensible status was still sought-after; BMW 3-Series in particular with a 34,000 mile 99V 323Ci selling for £18,100, a 27,000 mile 99T 323iSE selling for £16,250 and a 56,000 mile 99S E46 318iSE selling for £12,700 (all in silver, of course).

  Todays Auction at BCA Blackbushe 16 Mar 2001 (News)
  Despite quality problems, Golf Mk IV models remain dear with £10,450 needed to secure a 32,000 mile 99T 1.8GTi 3-door. £20,200 looked a lot to me for a 7,000 mile 2000W BMW 323i 4-door and at £9,400 a 66,000 mile Audi A3 1.8T Sport was plain expensive. So was £11,050 for a 54,000 mile 98R BMW 328i. But a couple of under-performers were a 42,000 mile 98R Jaguar XK8, sold for £28,450, and a 29,000 mile 99T Mercedes CLK 3.2 Elegance gone for £27,000.

  But, knowing full well that an undersupplied market is likely to be swamped in four weeks time, very few dealers are buying for stock. A 20,000 mile 98R Audi A3 1.8SE made an enormous £10,800; a 38,000 mile BMW 318Ti Compact without sunroof, a/c or alloys sold for £8,725; an 80,000 mile 98S Mercedes C180 Classic with the twin advantages of a/c and an autobox sold for £8,950; a 79,000 mile 97R Audi A4 1.8 T Sport sold for £7,425.

  Also on show at the 2012 Pageant will be the Jaguar XKR and Ice Dragster driven by Bond-villains Zao and Gustav Graves in DIE ANOTHER DAY, and the beautiful BMW Z8 from THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. The 2012 Pageant's 007 celebration is a satellite exhibition of Beaulieu National Motor Museum's 'Bond in Motion' season that features many of the most famous Bond cars from the last 50 years.

  176 MOTORBIKES SOLD IN BCA AUCTION 13 Mar 2008 (News)
  Bidding was fast and furious on the wide range of motorbikes on offer including Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson and BMW and a broad selection of scooters and mopeds from Aprilia, Gilera, Peugeot and Piaggio. There was even a vintage 1950 Royal Enfield on offer. In total, 93% of the sale entry was sold and 60 people purchased from the sale.
