Todays Auction at BCA Blackbushe

Fri, 16 Mar 2001
Six month old Primeras remained cheap today with bidding for 10,000 mile 2000X reg 1.8 and 2.0S models petering out at £8,200. Best buy of the lot, if it came, would have been a smart dark metallic blue 9,600 mile 1.8S knocked down to a provisional £8,000. Other chepeis of the day included an "ex government department" and very smart 174,000 mile 94L Rover 820Sli on which the bidding started at £300, though it eventually sold for £975. Despite quality problems, Golf Mk IV models remain dear with £10,450 needed to secure a 32,000 mile 99T 1.8GTi 3-door. £20,200 looked a lot to me for a 7,000 mile 2000W BMW 323i 4-door and at £9,400 a 66,000 mile Audi A3 1.8T Sport was plain expensive. So was £11,050 for a 54,000 mile 98R BMW 328i. But a couple of under-performers were a 42,000 mile 98R Jaguar XK8, sold for £28,450, and a 29,000 mile 99T Mercedes CLK 3.2 Elegance gone for £27,000. The fact that these were let loose under trade book shows the growing anxiety of fleet managers holding expensive cars that employees dont want to pay the benefit tax on from April next year. Finally, how would you price an 82,000 mile 90H, ten year old Toyota Previa automatic? The bidding started at £2,000 but it sold for £4,050. These vehicles are gold dust and this one was mobbed.
