Ford Focus ecoboost 1.0 ltr - 100 - Vibration on tickover 30 Nov 2016 (Forum)
I noticed a small water leak in a 2 year 9 month old car - looked ilke water pump area - took it to local Ford dealer who said it wasnt water pump but was serious and advised not to drive and was covered under warranty. Dealer couldnt obtain parts in UK and had to source from Germany and the car would be needed for two days - I think he said it was the main engine seal but not totally sure of that decription. -
Toyota Corolla - Timing Belt Change 23 Jun 2016 (Forum)
She wanted rid of it because she didn't see a point in having two cars. The car has a valid MOT and from what I've seen of it there is nothing stopping it passing another one, so it's mechanically sound. It's a surprisingly lovely car to drive, no wandering on the road, makes all the right noises and drives better than the 2010 Peugeot 3008 it's replacing. -

ford focus zetec 2010 - ford warranty - no joy when returning for fix 9 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I informed them of this and again they returned it to me changing 1 spark plug. The car does exactly the same thing and i booked it in with them for a full service costing £200, they told me they didnt change anything as it had been done before. i had a call the other night booking the car in for a health check and i was asked if the car was running ok, i informed them it never has since driving off the forecourt, but the women just said she wouldmake a note of it. -

Ford Ka2 - Are Ford being helpful? 7 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Why the battery, the car has never shown any other electric problems, always starts first time, the headlights do not surge when you big a big deman on the electrics and there is no other sign of any electric issues. The car is only 18 months old and had done 6K miles. -
Renault Espace (2002 - ) - 03 2.2 turbo+intercooler problem 22 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Hi can anybody help.Bought an espace and a warranty (endorsed by a well known motoring critic),paid extra for wear and tear and turbo cover. When car went for service we asked the garage to check for oil leak as we noticed a drop on drive, couldnt find anything.three weeks later during christmas took car back this time oil leak found advised not to use car and was booked in for investigation.Intercooler and turbo failed so warranty company rang by garage who sent engineer out.Warranty will not pay or help with repair due to:quote-intercooler was contaminated with oil and was also visualy oil stained around the area where the unit had been leaking which would be considered progressive in development and would not be considered a sudden breakage, there was slightly excessive lift on the turbine and oil contamination which in the absence of any actual breakage the cause would be consistent with general in service wear and deterioration of the turbo support bush and seals.Apparentley the warranty company sums up as saying the policy does not cover for any items which have not suffered a sudden and unforseen breakdown, but which are simply worn out.The car is a 53 reg 2.2 dci espace with service history and 71k on the clock.Has anybody any advice as it seems to me this company is hiding behind weasel words and clauses(not my words-check the ad). -

Mercedes Benz - C220 - My new motor won't be a Merc ! 23 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I had the pleasure to have an early C220 CDI, [5th merc, and there will no 6th] at last the car gave in and died it was a long and chronic illness, just a few of the conditions of the german disease, more new tyres than all my previous cars, heating packed up [plastic parts inside broke], ventilar packed up, nav system never ever worker properly, had enoug on 2 cd in the car, during the second dics playing it was hot enough to fry eggs, door rubbers came out at wil, roof rail covers detached and were attached a least twice a year, front spring failed mot, rear wheel axel is close to failure, and now the automatic gearbox has packed in and the care does't even start anymor During all these wondersful events, MG gave zero support or took part of the cost on their account, a dealer I do know better said off the record this was a series that never should have been sold as the quality was 100% sheisse [cost savings under Herrn Schremp] So I have decided, I do like the new E class and would like to buy one, but as matter of principle will not let MB get their hands on my hard earned cash, the E seems to be a good car, but the last years was not a pleasure, so I am now visiting other showrooms, rdam SLT -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 03 1.8 LPG fuel problem 7 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Sometimes after this happens I switch to petrol then back to gas again and the same thing occurs after a few minutes. However, once the car has been running on gas for a while it seems to be OK for the rest of the journey. This is only recent; I've had the car for a year now and it has always run fine before. It has covered 103000 miles so far. -
Small-medium sized used diesel hatch £3-4k 12 May 2008 (Forum)
I'm finally looking at calling it a day with my elderly 306 1.9TD, cambelt due for replacement and radiator is now leaking beyond the Radweld repair stage. The car is 14 years old and has a staggering 222k on the clock and as such the cost of getting these 2 items sorted is lilkely to be exceed the value of the car. The cars I am considering, in order of preference are as follows:- 1. -
New engine - who pays? 13 Apr 2005 (Forum)
A colleague owns a widely available sports car from the far east with a very high reputation for reliability [No, it's not me. Honestly. I went for the British competitor with the less than shining record!] Owned from new, he has had the car religiously serviced at the same main dealer (albeit not the supplying dealer). -
Time for a change? Opinions? 17 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Hi Back Room, Not sure who is aware but i have a 1994 Peugeot 306 1.9 diesel non turbo. This car is cheap to run/inusre etc. But being a 10 year old car parts wear out, i have owned this car for 10 months and spent £800 on parts/labour and i only bought it for £1000. The reason i bought a diesel was i had to commute quite a way to work. -
Concealed indicators 29 Jan 2004 (Forum)
This morning I was on a one-way system where traffic often needs to switch lanes, and therefore your natural instinct is to look across at the car next to you to see whether it is indicating. The car just ahead of me in the offside lane was a new Corsa. The trouble was, I couldn't see where it's rear indicators were. Initially I wasn't sure whether they were hidden by my car's A-pillars or door mirror. -
Arrrgggghhhhh more problems with my A4! 6 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Panic phonecall from the wife at 3pm today - the car made a noise, the power steering went and there was some smoke... I race into town from work (Thanks boss!) with a few tools and a tow rope. I get into the local hospital road network and find the car parked, neatly blocking the road. -
Volkswagen Golf Plus - Teething problems sell or not to sell 23 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Hi all I'm new to the forum I bought this 55 plate vx golf plus new mot etc drives lovely it's only 105 bhp but still goes ok however after buying it I noticed on the mot advisory there was a oil leak but i didn't notice until I bought it the car drives spot on I've taking it to a mechanic as when I have a different car I always give it a service oil.timing belt etc he put it on the ramps and said it looked like the oil was coming from the back of the rocker cover but iphe took it off the ramps and told me to get rid of it but didn't give me a reason it was like he didn't have time saying that it was a Friday afternoon this car is 140000 miles in. got part service but no sign of belt etc all that don't worry me. if the turbo is on its way out is there anyway of telling this should i take his advice not service the car and move it on but I really like the car and don't mind spending service money on it a couple hundred pound some people tell me these engines are the best ones to have also the fuel gauge works some times not at all times anybody know or have had this problem any find would be much appreciated and thanks in advance I really want to keep this car but as with all my cars I want them right thanks Carl -
