Races were won by Cooper, McLaren, Ligier and Lotus F1 cars; top sportscar honours went to drivers racing AC Cobras, a pre-war Bentley and a Jaguar D-type while Minis, a Mustang and a Ford Sierra RS500 were among the tin-top victors – proof of the wide range of cars on show. There were new records on track, too, with never-seen-before numbers of Formula 2 single seaters as well as first generation Mini Coopers, the latter honouring six decades of Sir Alec Issigonis’ little treasure. -

The totally loaded 8k mile 2004/53 reg Cooper S Works with every single option available including climate control, satnav, leather and twin sunroof bid to £17,500, which was a lot less than the vendor wanted. -

An imported 6,433 mile 03 Cooper with a/c but only a cassette player rather than a CD bid to £10,250. While a 3-year-old 40k mile Y reg Cooper with all the bits including leather and full-length solid sunroof ran to a ridiculous £9,800. -

NEC Classic Motor Show 2016: British Motor Museum to reveal 'hero' cars 7 Nov 2016 (News)
Also on the stand will be the first four-wheeled Wolseley, an 1899 3 ½ hp voiturette, and the 1976 Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini Cooper S. In 2015, the museum unveiled its new name and re-furbishment plans at the show. This year, staff will be on hand to talk about the museum’s new look and Collections Centre, both of which opened to the public in February 2016. -

Replacement door sills now available for MGF 9 Feb 2012 (News)
Replacement door sills for the MGF are now available from British Motor Heritage. The firm is best known for producing replacement shells and individual body panels for the MGB, Mini and other British classic cars. Both left (ALG460050) and righthand (ALG460040) sills are available now from all BMH’s MG specialists. They are manufactured on the original tooling in the same zinc-coated steel as the original panels plus, in common with all BMH products, come finished in industry-standard electrophoretic paint. -
Scrappage scheme has lowered CO2 output 20 Jan 2010 (News)
Mr Nagley went on to say that because all the reported improvement was attributed to the scrappage scheme, brands would need to be urged to continue to drop their emissions if the goals were to be met. But Mr Keighley added: "Without a doubt, the best all-rounder remains the Mini Convertible." Also recommended was the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z4 Coupe Cabrio. Meanwhile, Eurotaxglass's also looked at how well cars hold on to their prices recently. Research found that the Peugeot 107 was the best after three years and 39,000 miles.
