Cooper S Just £9,700 at Auction Today 29 Jun 2005 (News)
Both 3 years old, of course, but it seems that insurance premiums are finally taking the edge off Cooper S prices. An independently imported 22k mile 2002/52 Evo VIII FQ300 sold for a lowish £15k, again probably a victim of insurance. A 75k mile 03 reg E38 525d manual was a reasonable £10,500. And a 72k mile 02 reg Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 130 Zetec estate was fair enough at £5,850. -
Some Ups, Some Downs at Auction Today 8 Oct 2003 (News)
The Porsche in the picture booked at £35,575 with 23k on it. But this 996 Tiptronic had 38k and was a personal import. So though the £33,200 it made didn’t look dear, it was actually about right. Another Porsche, this one a 69k mile Boxster 2.7 sold for £21,600, again about right for the mileage. -

New SL500 Makes List at Top Car Today 28 Oct 2002 (News)
A brand new Mercedes SL500 imported from Germany just a week ago and with a mere 220 miles on the clock sold to a man with a bag of money for £74,600. While that looks like more than list, the car was well specced up with satnav, CD autochanger, leather and silver paint so, if not bang on UK list, was very close to it. -

X5 Makes £5k Over List at Top Car Today 16 Sep 2002 (News)
The moneyed classes have obviously gone crazy for X5s. Crazy enough for someone to stump up £46,750 for this independently imported 52 reg X5 3.0D Sport Auto with a lot of extras that would have pulled its UK list up to around £41,750. So if you read elsewhere that the car made £10k over list, you’ll know not to pay any more attention to that particular pundit. -
Bags of Variety at Auction Today 6 Mar 2002 (News)
Warranted mileage? You must be kidding. A pukka Ralliart imported FTO 2.0 Mivecs, 2001Y with 10,000 miles but a crunched front bumper, bid to £11,300 and didn’t sell. A 99V Elise with a hardtop, 17,000 miles and a strange history of having resided in Gibralter and Jersey bid to a low £12,800. -
HITTING THE CHILD; MISSING THE POINT 29 Jun 2001 (News)
The ABD believes the campaign needs to have a broader emphasis. Gregory continues: "We need to tell drivers about how important it is to look well ahead and anticipate - to see the child before he runs out and to be ready to avoid him should he do so." The ABD also stresses the need for drivers to use observation links. -

Car Crime Census 2013: Cars thieves avoid 6 Aug 2013 (News)
It is worth noting that for these cars to appear in our data at all, some crime of some sort must have been committed involving them, whether it be damage to, theft from or otherwise – cars that criminals have never touched don’t end up in police databases! It’s also important to acknowledge that some cars might be stolen by thieves who take keys from the homes of owners. These crimes aren’t necessarily recorded in police databases as car crimes but as burglaries and so don’t appear in our data. -
