  The brake lights on my 04 Arosa come on by themselves, usually at night, this morning I came to start the car a the battery was flat, my wife told me they were on when she went to work. I have looked at the brake light switch and give it a squirt of WD40.

  A couple of weeks ago we had the brake pads and discs changed on a 1996 Renault Clio, my partner has driven it fior the past 2-3 weeks when i got in today and there was a tremendous squeeking every time i put my foot on the brake. It seems as if these have not been bed in, has anyone any tips?

  I have a Focus tdi Zetec, with ABS, just coming up to 2yrs old & 30k miles. I drive quite a lot on urban roads, but am fairly light on the brakes - still comfortably on my 1st set of pads. When do you experts recommend that I renew my brake fluid ? Thanks in advance :-)

  What is reasonable for a modern brake pad? i.e is 12500 miles reasonable? with discs changed every other time (i.e every 25000miles) regards

  Hi There anyone got any expereince of Eletric parking brake on Toyota Avensis. Took a Tourer for a test drive and the brake did not activate on a downhill when i released the clutch. Also on flat. I must admit the battery was totally dead and needed jumping to get going.

  Help   My car brake lights do not go off whilst ther car engine is running.   I noticed when reveresed the car  towards my white colour garage door that my brake light slightly brightens, when I am pushing on the foot brake pedal.

  Hi all, i am thinking of having a go at changing my rear brake pads on my ford focus.The back brakes are drum brakes .I am not a mechanic but have got tools and fancy having a go at changing the drum off and if needs be changing the pads.   Hello - The brake lights dont come on until I've pressed the brake almost all the way down. The brake light switch seems to look like this one: http://www.teiledirekt.de/product_info.php/language/en/currency/GBP/products_id/1434078/refID/3 I just cant see how to adjust the darn thing though - or if its even possible to.

  I can't see any evidence of a leak around the wheels or anywhere else so might it be normal for the shoes to bed in causing the brake fluid level to drop a tad?

  I have just realised that two of my brake lights are not working, the high one in the middle top of my rear window works fine but the left and right ones are not working when I brake but they work fine as lights when not braking so I assume the bulbs are OK.

  I took it for the 12000 miles service yesterday. I mentioned to the garage there was a wobble when braking from high speed. They changed the brake pads AND disks. Is this normal? What could cause pads and disks to fail so quickly? (I am normally quite light in my use of brakes)... Regards Pascal

  i changed the rear brake pads on my sons 03 mondeo 1800cc.before i changed them the hand brake lever came up 4 clicks, after i changed them the hand brake came all the way up and just about locks the back wheels is the any adjustment and why was it working ok untill i put new pads on any help please.

  I wonder if anyone can help me with this - it's a long standing problem, the brake light warning light is on all the time although occasionally for no apparent reason it goes off for a few seconds and then comes on again even though the brake lights work normally. I have changed the brake light bulbs and cleaned all the contacts and all the LCD bulbs in the window light are working too.

  Just wondering if it's worth trying to do my 2000 1.9HDi Citroen Synergie's brake pads myself - has anyone got any experience in doing this job themselves? Or am I just tight. It's just hit 98,500 miles and I felt a distinct rubbing under heavy braking, braking has been poor of late, and I think may be almost down to the metal.

  1.6 ZM Engine (BJ)MAZDA 323F. Can someone tell me, when bleeding brakes does the engine have to be switched on to keep the ABS pump running. Or do you just bleed the brakes the normal way using two persons. It's just that I changed the brake fluid and now the pedel goes down a lot.

  Is there any way I can determine what exactly is causing the spongeyness? Here's what I do know Engine off brakes spongey but can be built up after pumping and remain good, until engine started, then they are spongey and remain spongey whilst driving. Very rarely a bit of pumping with engine runing can solidify brakes.

  On my ten year old Passat to cure a spongy brake pedal I have fitted a new master cylinder and still have spongy brakes. The hoses seem okay. The system is dual circuit with a mechanical load valve for the rear brakes. I have used a Gunson power bleed kit connected to a spare wheel tyre.
