  This Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Makinen Edition was built to celebrate the World Rally Championship success. This particular car has recently been imported from Japan and supplied on a NOVA. It looks the part and is in exceptional condition with 44,428 miles on the odometer (estimate £20,000 to £25,000.) Of course, some of us do prefer something a touch more… understated.

  One of only 193 built, the Jensen FF came with two important innovations: Ferguson Formula four-wheel drive and Dunlop Maxaret anti-lock brakes. Powered by a 6,276cc Chrysler hemi V8 engine with power fed through a Torqueflite automatic transmission it had a top speed of 140mph and could get to 100 in 19 seconds.

It was then imported into the UK and immediately entrusted to JD Classics of Mayfair for a professional conversion to right-hand drive. Today the car still retains the original engine and gearbox, making it a full matching numbers example.

  The Muira S was one of only 140 ever built and is to be sold at the COYS “True Greats” Christmas auction in London next week on Tuesday December 4th at an estimate of £370,000.  Other important collectors’ cars coming up for sale at this auction include a rare 1934 Riley Imp, estimated at  £70,000 to £80,000; a 1938 BMW 328 Roadster, estimated at £400,000 to £500,000, and a second fully restored Lamborghini Miura SV, estimated at £370,000 to £420,000.

  Both 3 years old, of course, but it seems that insurance premiums are finally taking the edge off Cooper S prices. An independently imported 22k mile 2002/52 Evo VIII FQ300 sold for a lowish £15k, again probably a victim of insurance. A 75k mile 03 reg E38 525d manual was a reasonable £10,500. And a 72k mile 02 reg Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 130 Zetec estate was fair enough at £5,850.

  The Porsche in the picture booked at £35,575 with 23k on it. But this 996 Tiptronic had 38k and was a personal import. So though the £33,200 it made didn’t look dear, it was actually about right. Another Porsche, this one a 69k mile Boxster 2.7 sold for £21,600, again about right for the mileage.

  A brand new Mercedes SL500 imported from Germany just a week ago and with a mere 220 miles on the clock sold to a man with a bag of money for £74,600. While that looks like more than list, the car was well specced up with satnav, CD autochanger, leather and silver paint so, if not bang on UK list, was very close to it.
