What mid-size vehicle will fit a mobility scooter in the boot?

"We need an automatic car as my wife is disabled and can only drive automatic. We also need a big enough boot to fit a mobility scooter, although we slide it in instead of lifting it over the boot sill. I am 70 this year. We were going to buy the Ford B-Max automatic until we read on the forum about juddering problems. Can you suggest a nearly new alternative car similar size and price range? We don't want an Estate or SUV."
Your best bet is probably a Peugeot 2008 1.2 Puretech 110 EAT6: https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/peugeot/peugeot-2008-puretech-110-eat6-2016-road-test/ You can get a cheaper Fiat Qubo, Citroen Nemo Multispace and Peugeot Bipper Tepee with a fairly awful automated manual transmission. It worked well in this test, but feedback on reliability gives it the thumbs down: https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/fiat/fiat-qubo-13-multijet-dualogic-2009-road-test/ I think Ford will start importing the Ford Courier Tourneo with RHD to replace the B-Max, but no word on that yet or whether it will come with a Powershift that would be the same as the B-Max's.

Buying an economic car for a small business - what would you recommend?

"I need help to choose the right car. This will be my first car in the UK. I've started a small business recently and we're looking for an economic and spacious car to carry wicker and wooden products (baskets, fire log baskets, etc). We don't need a large van but we may need something larger that a standard estate car. I'm totally confused with so many different types of cars and insurance groups. How about cars like Renault Kangoo, Citroen Berlingo which are quite spacious? Are they in a van insurance group already? How do I choose and what do I look at? "
You need a Citroen Berlingo Multispace, Peugeot Partner Tepee, Fiat Doblo, Renault Kangoo, Vauxhall Combo Kombi, or a smaller Citroen C3 Picasso. Best not to buy a van because the insurance is higher. Best also to go for petrol if you can because short runs cause problems with diesel DPFs and EGRs. If you want something smaller, under 100g/km you could consider a Fiesta 1.6 TDCi van or a Vauxhall Corsavan, but they are car derived vans and don't have the capacity of the cars I have already recommended. There is also the Fiat Qubo, Citroen Nemo Multispace and Peugeot Bipper Tepee.

I need a car with sliding doors for about £3k - any suggestions?

Citroen Berlingo Multispace, Peugeot Partner Tepee, or the smaller Citroen Nemo Multispace, Peugeot Bipper Tepee or a FIAT Qubo.

Peugeot EGC transmission

"I have a Peugeot Bipper Tepee 1.3 diesel with EGC auto box. Why does the user manual say never to leave the car in neutral? And advises you can start the car in 1st or reverse gears?"
Because it wears out the clutch. This is an automated manual, not an auto.
