Honest John Awards 2019: Suzuki Swift 1.0 BoosterJet takes Real MPG prize

Real MPG Car of the Year - Suzuki Swift 1.0 BoosterJet
Real MPG score: 67.4mpg
The Suzuki Swift 1.0 BoosterJet has taken the title of Real MPG Car of the Year at the Honest John Awards 2019. This accolade goes to the car that gets as close to its official fuel economy figures in the real word, according to data from our Real MPG database. The Swift, with its peppy BoosterJet engine, actually returns better than its test figures according to owners.
David Ross, Editor of HonestJohn.co.uk said: “Suzuki is a brand that consistently performs well in Real MPG so it’s no surprise to see the Swift winning here. The 1.0 BoosterJet is an excellent engine in its own right and yet is also proving incredibly economical, exceeding the claimed figures. We regularly get positive feedback from Swift owners so this is yet another feather in its cap”

I get 54 mpg from my Swift ZX T, perhaps it is the drive or just short driving around London!fuelmizer on 9 May 2019
I have the one litre booster jet hybrid and I’ve yet to reach 55mpg that’s over 2000 miles. It includes three trips mainly motorways of 300 miles !The car is great but I fail to see how they get 60+ mpg in the real world !?!
and no I haven’t got a heavy right foot !

Have owned a swift booster jet auto for about 7000km and I will regularly get 65mpg on open roads. And with some very careful accelerator use on a recent 100km trip got 75mpg averaging approximately 90 km/h. I have always used 98 octane fuel. So I wonder if this contributes to the good MPG.Add a comment
