62 VW Golf TDI bluemotion tecchnology - Can I turn off DRL'S? - Tommk4

Now then,

I want to turn off the DRL's on my 62 plate Golf TDI. I've read several explanations of how to do this on both this site and others, all of which involve pulling the indicator stalk down and back, I've tried this several times following the instructions to the second and it doesnt work.

Does this mean I can't turn them off at all on my car ie have they prevented drivers from turning them off on newer cars? or is the procedure different?

(PLEASE NOTE: I'm not interested in starting a debate about wheather or not I am evil for wanting to turn them off, if you would like to discuss that please start your own thread)

That just takes me to a download page of some sort...I'm assuming its a virus.

The configuration of the central electrics unit has to be changed using something like VCDS in the long configuration table.
