VW Golf GTI - How can I check the history of car I want to buy? - homervanderjaz

Hi, I am looking into buying a Golf GTI, however I am a bit nervous of buying a car without knowing its full history. I have looked online and found that certain companies offer a service to do a check, however some of these companies are quite expensive and as there is a few different GTIs I want to check I do not want to pay each time. So my question is; is there a free way to check the car history? If not what is the best site/company to use to check a cars history? Thanks for any help.

To be certain you need to read the numbers direct from the vehicle not just the registration plate,,see the log book, talk to the last owner,and then do a HPI check.and probably other things that somebody will come along shortly and tell you.
