Snow slippers Fix and Go Tex - Billy2Jags

I was in Carrefore Evian at New Year looking for a set of snow chains as we were staying up in the mountains; no chains in my size but I did buy a set of Fix and Go Tex Snow Slippers (40 Euros)
I have found them great in our current weather in south London but with our road almost impassable and the main roads clear they are showing signs of damage.
Short of taking them off and on at the end of our road is there any way to extend their use or is there anything similar to use in the next lot of snow and ice we are bound to get ?

AutoSocks. ?40 is cheap though, unless you can set some on eBay.

Michelin do a similar thing called Easy Grip.
