i bought this renault laguna 1.8 dynamique.
and i love it, it's beautiful to drive and look at but now it has developed this bad idle and engine stalling problem.
has anybody else experienced this and how do you fix it, is it injectors, coils or something worse :(
any suggestions other than selling it would be appreciated.

wash out the throttle body first. when clean disconnect the battery for 20 mins then reconnect & start. Do not touch the throttle & allow to idle for a few mins then drive. Do all this whilst already warm.
Its possible there is a fault or air leak but try the above first, often works fine.

injection doc,
thanks for advice, will try it, def no air leaks, been over that.
a quick question, is it ment to have a cover over it ?
mine is all exposed but looks like perhaps a cover needs to be on there.
i can send a pic if that would help ?
kind regards

hi, i had the same problem on my 2.2dci. I changed the cam shaft sensor and the crank shaft sensor. both showing faults on ecu when pluged in. Not cheep to fix at a price of just under £300. But cheeper than getting rid of a nice car.

I get a similar prob with my 1.8 petrol manual. When I set off after about 50yds the engine dies then immediately picks up again! This happens with a full tank so can't see it being a fuel pick up problem.
I've cleaned the air sensor valve with spray stuff as it was difficult to get off, and I was advised that it can be easily damaged and expensive to replace.
My mpg has also gone down from 36.5 just after service to 29.7mpg so I'm going to change the airfilter, it isn't big enough in my opinion.
