My mum has a very squealy fanbelt on her usually good 1.8 Diesel '97 fiasco. I've tried loosening and tightening but can't stop the noise. It's quiet at idle but much faster and it drowns out the engine noise.
It's sitting correctly on each pulley, so I wonder whether it's been routed wrong. It goes round crank, then power steering pump then idler then alternator before returning to crank pulley. Is this right?
Any useful suggestions?
Can anyone look under their bonnets for me please and check theirs....
