01 1.6 Electronically controlled engine cooling - BlueCanary

Our car's an automatic. Whilst driving, the symbol is lighting up, and the car starts kangarooing. Sometimes the car will continue, other times it cuts out and can then be difficult to start up. We have changed the EGR twice since we bought the car (four years ago) and we had originally wondered if it was that that needed changing again (last time we changed it was just over a year ago).
Can anyone help please?

Needs hooking up to a diagnostic reader and the fault code(s) extracting - takes away all the guesswork of what has put the fault light on.
