Time to ditch the M25? - Imagos
Driving on said Motorway today I was wonderering why the M25 has got a bit of a sad number for its name.

As arguably the most well known road in Britain or even Europe i'm sure it could be renamed with something more fitting.

After all the M1 is named after the Great North Road and the M4 after the Great West road, in Canada they have the Queen Elizabeth Way around Toronto, in the U.S. the experssways named after Presidents...and so on, we have the worlds largest ring road named er.. the M25... a non-discript 'A' road that runs through Surrey! Even the London Orbital name is not really used much.

Mine would be 'The Queen Elizabeth II ring road' which would tie up with the bridge.

Any other suggestions?

Yes. Back to the drawing board.
I do not think that the QEIIR road or highway will be accepted.

Englands greatest car park ;) -But what name can you give to a motorway that spends half its time closed/blocked with traffic and forever being widened?
