Welcome to The Back Room. There are multiple forums rather than just one. So, for instance, if you are interested in the "car oriented" side of motoring, there is a Technical Matters forum. You can avoid the arguments and discussion by sheltering in there. On the other hand, the Discussions forum will be the place to "air your views" (to quote our Home Page). You will also be able to advertise your motoring sales and wants in the Classifieds forum (but, please, private only: no motor traders). If anyone finds something that doesn't work as it ought, please email the moderators at mailto:moderators@honestjohn.co.uk , making sure to write the words "bug report" in the subject of your email. To make all of this run smoothly we have three moderators:- Dynamic Dave mailto:dave_moderator@honestjohn.co.uk , Smokie mailto:smokie_moderator@honestjohn.co.uk , and Pologirl mailto:pologirl_moderator@honestjohn.co.uk . We're here to make The Back Room a useful resource for all-comers and to ensure that things reasonably comply with both the agreement you read when you registered, and the further details under "The Small Print" which can be found here:- www.honestjohn.co.uk/credits/index.htm Please also be aware of a few other points; The moderating is performed in accordance with the small print. Where you feel you disagree with a particular action or the style of moderation please feel free to e-mail the moderators at mailto:moderators@honestjohn.co.uk or Honest John at mailto:letters@honestjohn.co.uk Discussion of moderating policy or actions is inappropriate within the backroom itself and therefore will be removed. The site is funded largely by advertising. This consists of both banner ads and pop-ups. These adverts are what pay for this site and pay for you to come here and chat with other backroomers. If you have a problem with them, such as making your system crash, please don't moan in the forums. Instead, e-mail directly to Honest John at mailto:letters@honestjohn.co.uk and he'll refer your e-mail on to the media agency in the hope something can be done to fix the problem. Discussion on the pop-ups themselves (e.g. do you like them, are they annoying, are they neccessary etc. etc.) is not acceptable within the forums. If you have something you wish to say about the advertising, then please discuss it by e-mail with HJ, mailto:letters@honestjohn.co.uk . By all means copy the email to the moderators, mailto:moderators@honestjohn.co.uk if you want to. Finally with regard to the recommendation of competing sites; Sometimes these will be allowed; for example where the competitive site has taken a strong campaigning stance. Sometimes they won't be acceptable. So please don't be surprised to see a link to a competitive site deleted, just as that site would have deleted a similar link to this site. Please do not recommend a site in which you have an interest or connection without mentioning that fact. You may well find other interesting information in the "Announcements" forum. Other than that, enjoy. {Acknowledgments to our ex-moderator Mark (RLBS) who first penned these words} Updated 31/08/2006 |
