My wife has a 1999 Golf 1.4 mk iv whose engine is cutting out at low speeds say approaching a roundabout or turning into a side road. The car will restart immediately. I have also noticed a slight hesitation occasionally on acceleration. The problem is intermittent. Any help advice would be much appreciated. Re coil packs problem did this apply to Golf.
Kind Regards

As no one else has has said anything.I may be wrong if it has a coilpack they are as far as I`m aware problematic.I dont know much about the golf MK iv but would think your problem is more on the ht side than fuel.so would go for coil

Thanks for the response mech1.
For information purposes which may be helpful to others I think the problem was caused either by a blocked air filter or blocked breather tube. On fixing these problem so far appears to be fixed. I am not an expert but I think the engine management system was cutting out to protect the engine from a too rich fuel mixture.
Thanks again for the help
Kind Regards
